Snorkels There are a few features on snorkels which you'll need to consider before your purchase. First, all snorkels are about the same length. Some, however, have a flexible silicone neck which will keep the snorkel out of the way for scuba divers when their regulator is in their mouth. Also, some will have a purge valve under the mouthpiece which basically acts as a one way valve so that they are very easy to clear. Last, some snorkels will have a semi- or completely dry top which makes them easier to clear because little or no water will get in the tube, even when it is submerged.
